Dave Mustaine revealed in a new interview with Merger from Detroit WRIF radio who MEGADETH recently recorded a cover of a JUDAS PRIEST song “for one Amazon project they asked us to do.” As for how he and his bandmates approached recording the track, the MEGADETH The frontman said: “We went to listen to the song and charted the performance. And going into this kind of micromanaging the song, this production of minutiae, we started to see a lot of things in the song where it seemed like there was no guide for the song. So we just did everything like we do for our recordings. And I think it got a little easier with the riffs and stuff.
Few years ago, Mustaine selected JUDAS PRIESTit is “Sad Wings of Fate” as one of the albums that changed his life. He said, “When it comes to classic heavy metal, JUDAS PRIESTit is “Sad Wings of Fate” is certainly one of the great opuses of all time. Hearing Glenn Tipton and KK Downingplay the guitar in unison and hear Rob Halford let go… Who sings like that? Nobody. I was so fascinated by this band and everything about them that I went to a hat store and bought a Fedora because Glenn Tipton carried one on the back of ‘Sad wings…’ I have curly hair so hats don’t fit so well. It didn’t last very long. [Laughs]”
