Grimes Shares Video For New Song “Shinigami Eyes”: Watch

Grimes has released another new song, his second in recent months. It’s called “Shinigami eyes” and it is accompanied by a music video directed by Brother and written by Grimes. Check it out below.

Grimes discussed “Shinigami Eyes” in a new interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1. She said:

Well, actually, OK, so this song, I’m not sure what to say or what not to say. I always say a bunch of stupid bullshit and get in trouble, but anyway. It’s the label management song. I love the record, but it’s just like, everybody’s like, what’s the deeper meaning? And it’s like, well, Nino Angelo really just watched Death threat and really liked. Basically, I wrote the whole space opera thing and it’s the only song that wasn’t this big narrative plot. Anyway, I really like the song. Sorry. I’m just undermining the marketing strategy.

According to a press release, “Shinigami Eyes” will appear on a new Grimes EP called Fairies cum firstwhich is described as “a prelude” to the next album Book 1. Speaking to Lowe, Grimes also said his next release will be a double album. “I’ve done a bunch of things and I just want to do more,” she explained. “There’s just more sound and concept ideas that I think need to be realized for everything to make more sense. And we kind of have two album covers and it seems like a waste to throw one away. between them.

Grimes released new single “Player of Games” in December, with a music video directed by Anton Tammi arriving shortly after. His next record – the 2020s follow-up Miss Anthropocene-will be his first for Columbia Records.
