What are “Background Sounds” in iOS 15?

Add a rain sound

Follow the guide below to add background sound for all media that will be played on your device in the future.

Open the Settings app on your device and tap “Accessibility.”

Press “Audio / Visual” now.

Press “Background sounds”.

Activate the toggle at the top of your screen.

Now press “Sound”.

Press and select “Rain”.

Close the Settings app and the rain sounds will now be enabled for your device.

Play a song or any music

Play a song on your iPhone now using any app you want (including Apple Music or Spotify), and you should hear background rain sounds at the default volume. You can adjust the volume of your rain sounds using the guide below if needed.

Adjust the volume of the rain sound

Open the Settings app and tap “Accessibility”.

Press “Audio / Visual”.

Select “Background Sounds”.

Now press “Read sample”.

You can also adjust the general volume of the rain using the slider at the top.
