After a four-year hiatus, boy group BTOB is ready to greet fans as spring approaches and flowers bloom. Now that the six members of the group have completed their mandatory military service, they are back with their 3rd album, “Be Together”, released Monday evening.

During an online press conference on Monday, Eun-kwang described the album as an album that explains what it means to be “together” and defines “unity”.

“BTOB is a group that wants to stay with fans and music listeners with our tracks and songs. And as the title of the album suggests, it’s like being with them,” the frontman said.

It’s the first time the band members have reunited for the first time since 2018, when they last released an album as a six-piece group with “Hour Moment.”

Min-hyuk said the album reflects the 10-year timeline that BTOB has shared with fans. He went on to say that it was about revisiting the moments and memories that he had cherished with the fans over the past decade, and added that he wanted to walk the same path with the fans forever. The rapper also expressed hope that fans and music listeners will resonate with him through what he wants to convey.

As a self-taught idol of the music scene, producer Hyun-sik introduced himself as a lyricist and composer. Not only did the singer write the title track “The Song”, but he also wrote seven different tracks: “Intro”, “Be Together”, “My Way”, “Interlude: Re”, “Lonely”, “Dance With Me”. and “Outro: Again”.

Hyun-sik described the titular as a “melodious song that merges BTOB’s various voices”. He added that the song connects the emotions of their past ballad songs like “Missing You”, “Only One For Me” and “Beautiful Pain”.

Speaking about the title track, Hyun-sik said the word “song” first came to mind when he thought of BTOB. “I thought about writing the lyrics starting with the term song, and since what we trust the most is the singing, I decided to use ‘The Song’ as the title to express that we keep singing.”

Of the tracks he has composed, Hyun-sik said “Lonely” is a song that holds a special place in his heart. “It’s a song I wrote a long time ago, but I came up with the lyrics to the song when I was in the military. I was really alone at the time, so I had to blend in with the emotions I was feeling at the time,” he added.

Hyun-sik also said that BTOB took a leap of faith this time around, as the two band members took the lead in producing the entire album, which was also their first time doing so. .

“Producing an album by ourselves was a real headache. It was tough, but on the other hand, that means I put in so much time and money, so I’m happy with our result,” he added.

Min-hyuk also penned five other supporting tracks, including “Whiskey” and “Thank You,” filling the 13-song package with musical diversity. Talking about the tracks Min-hyuk found, Eung-kwang said that “Thank You,” written by Min-hyuk, is his favorite song on the album. “It’s a song that says thank you, and in keeping with the meaning, the song expresses how grateful I am for everything.”

To celebrate their 10th anniversary on March 22, BTOB is also gearing up for a concert next month. Additionally, the group wrapped up 2021 and kicked off the new year with fans by hosting an offline fan meeting titled “Welcome to BTOB.”

Min-hyuk hinted at the group’s upcoming concert, describing it as “an event where we could all sing together.” Sung-jae chimed in, saying it would be the band’s best concert “ever”.

Talking about being on stage after his release, Sung-jae said he worried about whether he had changed during his time in the military, but said he could stay the same person before. enlist because of the fans. He added that the preparation for the group’s 3rd album, fan meetings and the concert to be held soon was a long job, but he was able to endure this period because of the fans, and mainly because he misses them the most. .

Eun-kwang said he finally felt like one after reuniting with Hyun-sik and Sung-jae. “I got promoted to BTOB 4U when both were in the military, but something was empty,” he recalled.

While Hyun-sik and Sung-jae were in the army, the other four members of the group – Chang-sub, Min-hyuk, Eun-kwang, Peniel – continued their promotion by participating in Mnet’s competition program “Kingdom : Legendary War”. which aired last year. They debuted as BTOB 4U in 2020, which is the second official subunit formed under the group.

Eun-kwang was the first of the group’s seven members to enlist in the military in 2018, and Changsub announced that he would be a member of the ROK Army Music Corps. Minhyuk became the third member of the group to enlist in 2019 as a conscript policeman. Hyun-sik and Sung-jae began their military service in May 2020, while Peniel, who holds US citizenship, did not have to undertake compulsory military service.

At the end of the event, Eun-kwang expressed hope that he would be more than happy if fans and music listeners loved their songs and album as much as they did.

“Doing well on the charts and record sales are also crucial, but I wanted to make a story with the fans and the listeners, and I want to continue to create more memories with them,” he said.

The 13-track package was released at 6 p.m. Monday.
