So many artists, so little time. Every week we review a handful of new albums (from all genres), round up even more new music we’d call “indie” and talk about what metal comes out. We post music news, track premieres and more all day. We are updating a weekly playlist of some of our current favorite tracks. Here is a daily summary with a bunch of interesting and recently released songs in one place.

PUSHA T – “SPICY DISH DISS” (MCDONALD’S DISS TRACK, FOR ARBY’S)

Today, in news you just can’t make up, Arby’s tapped Pusha T to advertise their fish sandwich as a diss track against McDonald’s Filet-o-Fish. (Apparently Push had a score to settle as he said he wrote the “I’m lovin’ it” jingle and was never credited.) “A little fish cube from a clown is basic,” Pusha raps. T. King shit.

DENZEL CURRY – “TROUBLES” (ft. T-PAIN)

Denzel Curry’s highly anticipated new album Melt my eyes, see your future drops this Friday, and here’s another new single, featuring veteran crooner T-Pain. This keeps our hopes high for this LP.

BLACK UHURU – “BRAND NEW DAY”

Reggae icons Black Uhuru celebrate their 50th anniversary with a new album New day which will be released on May 13 via LAW Records. The first single is a rewrite of Dylans Dharma’s “Brand New Day”, in which bandleader Duckie Simpson exchanges verses with Dylan Seid.

PAPER CUTOUTS – “PALTOM SUNDAY”

Papercuts’ Jason Quever says new song “Palm Sunday” is about “lost love and unfulfilled potential. It’s about someone you never quite forgot, but who left you feeling epically disappointed and full of nostalgia”. Papercuts new album Past life regression comes out next week via Slumberland.

DELTA SPIRIT – “WHAT’S DONE IS DONE”

Delta Spirit announced a new album One is one which will be released on May 20 via New West. “One is one basically says, “What is life? Here are some observations,” says frontman Matthew Logan Vasquez. The video for lead single “What’s Done is Done” is in honor of World Down Syndrome Day and features Jamie Brewer (american horror story) and Zack Gottsagen (The Peanut Butter Falcon) and was directed by longtime collaborator Michael Parks Randa. “Before starting Delta Spirit, I worked in an adult transition program for people with disabilities and it was such a rewarding experience,” says Vasquez. “As a society, we really underestimate the capabilities of the disability community, especially in the creative arts. We’ve been collaborating with Randa for years, and after seeing her inclusive film Best Summer Ever, we were energized to do our part to help bring greater inclusion to the music industry.”

FREDATLAST (FREDRIK WALLIN FROM THE LITTLE DRAGON) – “ONE DAY”

Little Dragon’s Fredrik Wallin will be released on Banner of Lost Creed EP as FredAtLast on May 13 via Small Matter Records. The first single is the warmly buzzing “One Day” which Fred says is “a meditation on impermanence and how we deal with loss. A call for our closest to be: closer, dearer and bolder.” .

CARACARA – “COLORGLUT” (ft. ANTHONY GREEN)

Philadelphia emo band Caracara have shared the Anthony Green collab from their upcoming album New Concernsand it’s a soaring, big-screen rock song and Anthony’s ethereal voice blends well with the grittier vocals of Caracara singer Will Lindsay.

LIGHT VAULT – “REGENERATION”

Luminous Vault, the New York-based metal duo of guitarist/vocalist Mario Diaz de Leon (Oneirogen, Bloodmist) and bassist/vocalist Samuel Smith (Artificial Brain, Aeviterne), have announced a new album, Animate the void, due out May 20 via Profound Lore. The first single is “Regeneration”, a dose of quirky melodic black metal fueled by a patchwork of solo guitars as colorful as the album cover.

AVOID – “COWABUNGA”

Post-hardcore Seattle revelers AVOID are on tour with Fit For A King, Silent Planet and Hollow Front (and will be heading to New York’s Gramercy Theater on Thursday, 3/24), and they just dropped this infectious tune and energetic new single.

SUBSERVED DOMINANCE – THE HOLLOW

Bethlehem, Pa. industrial/noise/power electronics artist subservientdominance has released a new record, the hollowwhich focuses on discordant, static and abrasive sounds.

49 WINCHESTER – “RUSSELL COUNTY LINE”

Castlewood, VA, new album by alternative country band 49 Winchester Fortune favors the brave on May 13 via New West Records, and the latest single is the warm and seductive “Russell County Line”.

JOSHUA HEDLEY – “BROKEN AGAIN”

Florida country singer Joshua Hedley follows his 2018 debut album on Third Man Records Mr Jukebox with neon blue on April 22 via New West Records, and here is the rockin’, rollickin’ “Broke Again”.

FACTOR CHANDELIER – “TIGER FIGHT (SUNLOA)” (ft. SUNSPOT JONZ)

Veteran hip-hop producer Factor Chandelier’s next sequel to 2002 Time invested, Time invested IIdrops 3/28 via Fake Four, and the latest single features Sunspot Jonz of LA Living Legends indie hip-hop collective.

JARV IS… (JARVIS COCKER) – “THIS IS GOING TO HURT” SOUNDTRACK

Jarvis Cocker’s band JARV IS… score new BBC limited series This is going to hurt which comes out today. It includes eight new songs with lyrics and vocals by Jarvis, plus four compositions by harpist Serafina Steer, all performed by the band (Jarvis, Serafina, Emma Smith, Andrew McKinney, Adam Betts and Jason Buckle).

MEN’S CLUB WORKERS – “WIDOW”

Manchester band Working Men’s Club will release a new album, Fear Fear, on July 15 via Heavenly. Here is the first single.

CAMP COPE – “JEALOUOUS”

Camp Cope’s new album Run with the hurricane comes out Friday (pre-order limited edition, ultra clear moon phase/baby pink vinyl), and ahead of its release, they shared another new single, “Jealous,” which you can read more about here.

DANNY ELFMAN & TRENT REZNOR – “NATIVE INTELLIGENCE”

Last year, Trent Reznor collaborated with Danny Elfman on a new version of “True”, which appeared on Danny’s 2020 album big mess. They also reworked “Native Intelligence”, with Trent on lead vocals.

HARKIN – “BODY CLOCK”

Harkin, the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Katie Harkin, will release a new album Honeymoon Suite on June 17 via Hand Mirror. The album was made during lockdown and finds Katie – who fronted Sky Larkin and collaborated and performed live with Sleater-Kinney, Dua Lipa, Wild Beasts and more – performing on her own for the first time, and heading resolutely towards a more electronic direction than his debut album.

ADIA VICTORIA – “DISN’T KILLED ME YET”

Adia Victoria follows last year’s great A Southern Gothic along with another traditionally bluesy new single, which you can read more about here.

NO/MAS – “EXILE”

The DC No/Mas Grinders have announced a new album, Consume/Denial/Repent, produced by Taylor Young and expected in April via Closed Casket Activities. Learn more about the first single “Exile” here.

VINCENT NEIL EMERSON – “SON OF CHIP”

Texas country singer Vincent Neil Emerson released his self-titled album last year on La Honda Records (Colter Wall), and now he’s back with new single “Son Of A Bitch,” which you can read more about here.

MOLLY TUTTLE – “BIG BACKYARD” (ft. OLD CROW MEDICINE SHOW)

Molly Tuttle and her bluegrass band Golden Highway will release a guest-packed new album, twisted treethe 4/1 via Nonesuch, and the latest single is the Old Crow Medicine Show collab, which you can read here.

DC FOUNTAINS – “SKINTY FIA”
