Tye Trujillothe 17 year old son of METALLIC bass player Robert Trujillocontributed “additional guitar tracks” to the version of METALLICit is “Puppeteer” which appears in netflixseason four finale of “Stranger Things”.
In the final, the Eddie Munson character performs what he calls “the most metal gig ever” – including shredding “Puppeteer” on his beloved warlock guitar — in “Stranger Things”‘ Alternate universe “Upside Down” during an attempt to help his friends defeat the season’s Big Bad, a demon named Vecna.
Earlier today, Robert taken to his instagram to share some photos from the episode, as well as a video of some of the show’s credits. He wrote in the accompanying caption, “**Spoiler alert** That’s my boy! Proud of you Tye! stranger things finale shredding it ‘Puppeteer’ and a big thank you to @kirkhammett for his help! @tyetru @metallica @strangerthingstv #metallica #masterofpuppets #strangerthings #eddiemunson”.
29 year old actor Joe QuinnWho’s playing MunsonTold Weekly entertainment on how he prepared for the role: “I listened to a lot of heavy metal. That was my…God, it’s impossible not to sound pretentious when you say it, but , yes, that was my way.”
quinn went on to say that he started playing guitar after watching Jack Black in the 2003 cult movie “School of Rock”.
“I’ve been playing since I was 7 and had huge breaks,” he said. “I wouldn’t consider myself a brilliant guitar player, but I can play it. It was very lucky because these scripts came out, I think, at some point in the pandemic. I started training pretty furiously. “
When he was only 12 years old, Tye Trujillo filled in for bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu for CORNafter the South American tour of Champy was unable to do the shows due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
These last months, Tye played several gigs as bassist for SUICIDAL TENDENCIES. He regularly replaces SUICIDAL TENDENCIES bass player Roberto “Ra” Diazwho currently plays bass for CORN.
Tye is also a member of OTTOthe trio who have just completed a short American tour with BASTARDANEthe new band with the drummer Beaver Hetfieldson of METALLIC leader James Hetfield.
OTTO is preceded by Bryan Noah Ferretti vocals and guitar, with Tye on bass and Triko Chavez to the battery. The trio are currently working on the new album, having released a self-titled collection of nine songs in 2020.
